Compact units with integrated stepper motor and low backlash harmonic drives.

Absolute position feedback gives you the exact position of the unit at startup or after power cycling.

The units are oil filled and connected to an external compensator device.

 

 

Our new design make the unit more robust and increase the torque stiffness to a new level.

  • The length of the lever arm is very important as torque is defined as the cross product of the lever-arm distance vector and the force vector.

Actuade Pan-Tilt unit   compared to   Traditional design

The lever arm in our design is reduced to about 1/3 of length.

    We have added robust bearings to avoid damage on the shafts when the unit on the ROV is hit from a manipulation arm or shacked with thruster noise. 


To work properly down to 6000m, the unit must be connected to an external compensator device.

The rubber hose from the connection box must be connected to the compensator and oil filled.

Available Torque

Our units are designed to withstand heavy Payloads.

The max payload is meant to move with the unit without to loose steps.

15 Nm (11 lb/ft) torque are available for the products SPT-115 Pan&Tilt and SPA-115 Pan on each axis

Movement in horizontal plane:
To move a payload in the horizontal plane you can add more payload because you don't have to consider gravity.

If the payload is far away from the rotation centre the bearings can generate more friction and limit the effective torque.

Movement in vertical plane:
To move payload in the vertical plane you have to overcome gravity of the load.

The payload center must be within the limits as shown below:
